Herbs & Wildflowers

Herbs have many uses and cover a wide range of different types of plants. You can create a scented garden with Lavender, Southernwood and Rosemary or make a fragrant lawn from Chamomile and Thyme. No kitchen garden is complete without culinary herbs such as Parsley, Tarragon or Dill for a fish sauce, Basil for tomatoes or Chervil for scrambled eggs.

Other herbs have cosmetic or medicinal uses. Many are well known and widely used today. Some have obscure ancient medicinal properties which are now being 'rediscovered'. We offer all the traditional herbs plus many rare and unusual ones.

We have extensive collections of Thyme, Mint, Lavender, Oregano/Marjoram and Rosemary

Many wild flowers are disappearing from the countryside and some are near to extinction. You can attract birds, bees and butterflies to your garden and help to conserve rare species by planting your own wild flower garden or meadow

Cottage Garden Plants

The traditional cottage garden conjures up pictures of a small thatched cottage surrounded by a garden overflowing with colour and fragrance. Every space crammed with flowers such as tall lupins and delphiniums or scented pinks and wallfowers. Honeysuckle and nasturtium scrambling through hedges and trees. If you want to recapture this feel in your garden come and see our range of all the old favourites plus lots of interesting and unusual plants as well.

Pelargoniums

These are often commonly called Geraniums. We list over 80 different varieties of Scented-leaf Pelargoniums. Rubbing the leaves releases such scents as nutmeg, peppermint, lemon and apple. 'Attar of Roses' is traditionally used in perfumes while others have culinary uses in flavouring desserts.

We also have other types of Pelargoniums including Angels, Ivy-leaf, Regals, Coloured-leaf types and some rare and unusual species (wild forms)

All are excellent for growing in containers or for bedding out in borders.

Vegetable Plants

A wide range of vegetable plants are available in season including tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, artichokes, broccoli, lettuce etc.

We grow a comprehensive selection of seasonal plants such as fuchsia, petunia, lobelia, verbena etc. and all types of plants suitable for hanging baskets and patio planters.
